AMAC has been initiated to act as permanent information platform for The Gambian
general public to have access to information on all aspects of regular and irregular
migration to Europe.

There is a serious need to provide the Gambian General Public with a community-
based information platform to inform them about alternatives to irregular migration and
to educate the population about the dangers of irregular migration giving people a
realistic factual picture of the limited prospects for irregular migrants to Europe and to
raise awareness about official screening procedures for regular migration to Europe.
